Supply chain manager Food Service/Seafood - Riyadh, KSA - Bidfood Middle East

Objective
Responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, from sourcing raw seafood products to distribution, ensuring that products are delivered on time, at the right quality, and at the right cost. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, logistics partners, production teams, and quality control to maintain an efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chain. The Supply Chain Manager also plays a key role in managing inventory, addressing disruptions, and ensuring compliance with regulations and food safety standards.
 
Responsibilities:
    1. Supply Chain Strategy and Planning: 
    • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall goals, focusing on optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery. 
    • Forecast demand based on market trends, production schedules, and customer requirements, adjusting supply chain plans to meet these needs. 
    • Analyze supply chain data and market conditions to identify opportunities for improvement and cost-saving initiatives. 
    1. Supplier and Vendor Management: 
    • Identify and manage relationships with key suppliers of raw seafood, packaging materials, and other production-related items. 
    • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining high-quality standards. 
    • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, sustainability, and regulatory standards (e.g., sustainability certifications, food safety regulations). 
    • Manage supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost-efficiency. 
     
    1. Demand Forecasting and Procurement: 
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to accurately forecast demand for seafood products based on historical data, market trends, and customer feedback. 
    • Manage the procurement process to ensure that raw materials are purchased in alignment with production schedules and sales forecasts. 
    • Develop and maintain relationships with alternate suppliers to mitigate risks of supply chain disruptions or shortages. 
     
    1. Cost Management and Budgeting: 
    • Manage supply chain budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and aligned with company targets. 
    • Optimize supply chain processes to reduce operational costs without compromising product quality or service levels. 
    • Continuously evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and logistics providers to obtain the best value for goods and services. 
     
    1. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: 
    • Work closely with production, procurement, quality assurance, and sales teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment across all aspects of the supply chain. 
    • Provide regular updates to senior management regarding supply chain performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. 
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that the company’s overall operational goals are met. 
     
    1. Logistics and Distribution: 
    • Oversee the logistics operations involved in transporting seafood products from suppliers to production facilities and from production facilities to customers or distribution centers. 
    • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining the quality and freshness of perishable products. 
    • Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to coordinate transportation, storage, and handling of seafood products. 
    • Manage and optimize the transportation routes and logistics to minimize costs and improve efficiency. 
Key Experiences & Skills required:
    • Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, preferably in the seafood or food processing industry. 
    • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the seafood supply chain, food safety regulations, and logistics operations. 
    • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to manage supplier contracts and pricing agreements. 
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions to optimize the supply chain. 
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify supply chain challenges and implement effective solutions to minimize disruptions. 
    • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with suppliers, vendors, production teams, and senior management. 
    • Project Management: Experience in managing projects, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. 
    • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management tools) and advanced Excel skills. 
     
    Education and Certifications: 
    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
