Director of Engineering (DOE)
Location: The Chedi Wadi Safar – Diriyah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Position Summary
The Director of Engineering will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations at The Chedi Wadi Safar, ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and maintenance of all hotel facilities, systems, and infrastructure. The role will support the pre-opening and operational phases of the property while maintaining the highest standards expected of a luxury hospitality brand.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring efficient operation of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Support pre-opening activities, including testing, commissioning, and handover of engineering systems.
  • Manage energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability programs to optimize operational costs.
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department budget, including capital expenditure planning.
  • Coordinate with operations, projects, and external contractors to ensure smooth facility management.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests, colleagues, and contractors through effective risk management and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Director of Engineering or Assistant Director of Engineering within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hotel engineering systems and building operations.
  • Experience in pre-opening luxury hotel projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and sustainability standards.
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or a related technical field.
