Role Overview
As a Pastry Commis, you will join our dynamic culinary brigade at The Chedi Hegra. Working in a bustling ONSITE kitchen environment, you will assist our pastry team in preparing, presenting, and delivering creative and high-quality desserts and baked goods to our esteemed guests. This role is perfect for a passionate and detail-oriented individual looking to build their foundational skills in pastry arts under the mentorship of experienced chefs.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily preparation and production of pastries, breads, cakes, and other desserts.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the pastry team in decorating and plating desserts for service.
  • Assist in inventory checks and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
  • Follow instructions from senior pastry chefs and proactively seek learning opportunities.
Must have requirements
  • Passion for baking and pastry arts with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as part of a kitchen rota.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Team player with good communication skills and reliability.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Respect for hygiene and safety regulations.
