Role Overview
Join our leadership team as the Director of Sales, where you will drive strategic growth and business development at The Chedi Muscat. As part of our accomplished team in The Chedi Muscat, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, managing and inspiring a high-performing sales team to exceed targets within the luxury hospitality sector. Your strategic insight, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the local market and trends, will be critical to maximizing revenue opportunities and strengthening our market presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate the hotel’s sales team to achieve defined revenue and occupancy goals.
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies targeting key corporate, leisure, and group business segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, corporate clients, and travel industry stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and adjust sales tactics accordingly to optimize opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing to synergize campaigns, promotions, and events that drive hotel exposure and profits.
- Analyze sales data, produce regular performance reports, and present them to senior management.
- Identify areas for improvement within the sales function and implement action plans to optimize team performance.
Must have requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification (or equivalent) in marketing or a related field.
- Four or more years of experience in hospitality or hotel sales and marketing with proven supervisory responsibilities over a sales team.
- Strong knowledge of local businesses and prevailing business trends in Muscat or the region.
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytics, budgeting, and reporting skills.
Nice to have requirements
- Fluency in Arabic language.
- Experience working in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Network within the hospitality and travel industry of the Middle East.
- Advanced knowledge of CRM platforms and sales management tools.
- Track record of successfully entering new markets or segments.
