To provide senior credit risk support to the Credit Risk team for a six-month period across the SME lending portfolio, covering secured, unsecured, and program-based lending. The secondee will lead credit assessments of complex and higher-value cases, oversee program-lending criteria and performance, drive portfolio monitoring, and contribute to policy reviews to safeguard asset quality while supporting responsible business growth. The role is a fixed-term assignment and does not carry permanent product or P&L ownership.
Assess and adjudicate SME credit applications within delegated authority, including complex and higher-value cases.
Provide credit recommendations and risk commentary, and act as a senior reference point for the team.
Oversee SME program-based lending: review eligibility criteria, scorecards, and decisioning rules.
Monitor program performance against approved risk appetite and recommend adjustments to criteria or limits.
Own monitoring of portfolio performance, early-warning indicators, and concentration/limit exposures.
Oversee preparation of credit risk reports and present findings to senior management.
Review and recommend enhancements to SME lending credit policy and procedures.
Ensure lending decisions align with internal frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Partner with business, product, and legal teams to resolve credit matters and shape sound lending outcomes.
Lead ad-hoc risk analysis and portfolio reviews, and support coaching of junior credit staff where needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of banking experience, including substantial credit risk or SME / commercial lending experience.
- Credit and financial statement analysis.
- Sound understanding of SME lending products and risk across secured, unsecured, and program-based lending.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Good written and verbal communication; able to work across teams.
