Structural Engineer - ELECTRA

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our technical team in the events and exhibitions industry. The role involves designing, analyzing, and certifying temporary and semi-permanent structures for exhibitions, conferences, live events, and experiential installations. 
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative environment while maintaining the highest safety and engineering standards. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Design and validate structural systems for temporary event structures including exhibition stands, stages, platforms, trusses, rigging, and pavilions. 
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports for approvals and third-party certification. 
  • Review architectural and shop drawings to ensure structural feasibility and compliance. 
  • Ensure compliance with local and international codes (Eurocodes, British Standards, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense). 
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and fabricators to optimize structural solutions and materials. 
  • Provide technical support during concept and tender stages. 
  • Coordinate with external consultants and certifying engineers for approvals and load checks. 
  • Conduct site inspections during build-up and dismantling to ensure safe installation. 
 
Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. 
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in events, exhibitions, temporary structures, or modular construction. 
  • Experience in the UAE or GCC is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of temporary works and event structures. 
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or similar). 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD ,Revit or Rhino. 
  • Good understanding of steel and aluminum structures.

  • Willingness to attend site works, including nights or weekends, as required by event schedules.

  • You will not remove any safety devices for any machinery or installations. 
  • You will perform all tasks set forth by safety regulations and cooperate with Electra to ensure a working environment and conditions that do not pose any risks in terms of health and safety. 
  • Reduce and monitor resource consumption as contribution to reducing environmental aspects and impacts.
