Role Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and identifying strategic business opportunities within the events, exhibitions, and structures sectors. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of event production, and a proactive, client-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Client Acquisition

Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across target sectors (corporate, cultural, governmental, and entertainment).

Prepare and present tailored proposals, budgets, and capability decks to clients and agencies.

Maintain an active sales pipeline in CRM with accurate forecasting (weighted 10%–90%).

Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets as set by the Head of BD.
2. Account Management

Nurture and expand relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.

Lead project handovers to operations, ensuring clarity on scope, budget, and client expectations.

Coordinate with internal departments (Design, Projects, Procurement, Finance) to ensure smooth project execution.
3. Market & Strategic Development

Research market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in UAE and KSA.

Participate in trade shows, networking events, and industry forums to enhance brand visibility.

Contribute to development of pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and service diversification.
4. Commercial & Administrative

Prepare quotations, tenders, and RFP responses in line with Electra’s commercial guidelines.

Support management with client credit evaluation, contract negotiations, and payment follow-ups.

Ensure compliance with internal policies on sustainability, health & safety, and ethical procurement.
5. Continuous Improvement

Actively participate in Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives to streamline BD processes.

Gather client feedback (Voice of Customer) to enhance service quality and internal KPIs.

Support onboarding and mentorship of junior BD team members.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

Minimum 5 years of BD experience in events, exhibitions, structures, or fit-out sectors.

Proven track record of achieving sales targets in the GCC market.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong network of clients, agencies, and suppliers within UAE / KSA.

Technical understanding of event production (structures, rigging, interiors, logistics).

Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot, Business Central) and MS Office Suite.

Fluent in English; Arabic or French an advantage.

Willingness to travel across the GCC.
