As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop, maintain, and improve our procurement platform. You'll contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies and scalable systems. What You'll Do
- Develop Backend Features: Build, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and application features under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.
- Support Integrations: Assist in developing and maintaining integrations with third-party platforms and services.
- Database Management: Help optimize database queries and work with data storage solutions, including MongoDB, to ensure application performance.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Investigate, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues while learning effective problem-solving techniques.
- Write Quality Code: Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to maintaining a clean and maintainable codebase.
- Learn and Grow: Continuously improve your technical skills through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and hands-on project experience.
- Contribute to System Reliability: Assist with monitoring, logging, and performance improvements to help maintain stable and reliable services.
- Participate in Agile Development: Take part in planning sessions, sprint reviews, and team discussions to contribute ideas and learn development best practices.
What You'll Bring
- 0–2 years of experience in software development, internships, academic projects, or personal projects.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and backend development concepts.
- Familiarity with Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js or Nest.js.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web application fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of databases, including SQL or NoSQL systems such as MongoDB.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice to Have
- Exposure to the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js).
- Experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and modern software development practices.
