Job Description
Summary
As an Engineering Manager at TPConnects, you will lead and inspire a team of talented engineers to build innovative SaaS and cloud-based solutions for the airline and travel industry. Leveraging your extensive experience in software development and leadership, you will drive technical projects, foster a culture of innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products aligned with industry standards such as IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC). Your role is pivotal in shaping the future of modern airline retailing, providing solutions that deliver value without the constraints of legacy systems.

Key responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality SaaS and cloud-based solutions.
  • Technical Direction: Drive the technical direction, architecture, and implementation of projects aligned with IATA standards such as NDC, ARM, One-Order, and IFG.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, and sales teams to define and execute product roadmaps.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Project Management: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Implement coding, testing, and deployment best practices to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges, providing guidance and innovative solutions.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
  • Resource Management: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation effectively.

Technical Expertise
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS and cloud technologies, including experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies like Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and web services.
Industry Knowledge
  • Experience in the airline or travel industry with knowledge of distribution, pricing, sales, and servicing.
  • Understanding of IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC) and other relevant standards.
