Job Summary
The Sorter is responsible for receiving, sorting, and preparing laundry items for processing in a commercial laundry facility. The role ensures garments and linen are accurately categorized according to fabric type, color, customer requirements, and washing instructions while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive soiled laundry items from customers and internal collection points.
- Sort garments, uniforms, linens, and other textile items according to color, fabric type, washing requirements, and customer specifications.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or other defects and report findings to the supervisor.
- Separate heavily stained or damaged items for special treatment.
- Ensure proper tagging, counting, and tracking of customer items.
- Prepare sorted laundry for washing by loading items into designated carts, bins, or conveyors.
- Follow company procedures for handling customer garments and specialty fabrics.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sorting area.
- Assist with loading and unloading laundry carts as required.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Meet daily productivity targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Support other laundry operations when required.
Requirement
- Laundry Experience Preferred
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Read and Write Basic English
