Role Purpose
As a Cashier, you are the final touchpoint of the in-store customer journey and play a vital role in delivering a seamless and memorable experience. You will be responsible for processing all point-of-sale transactions accurately, assisting with customer queries, and maintaining a clean and professional checkout area. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for customer service.
 
Responsibilities
Customer Service & Checkout Experience
• Greet all customers warmly and professionally at the counter.
• Accurately process all sales transactions, refunds, and exchanges through the POS system.
• Answer basic product or service related inquiries or direct customers to the appropriate Sales Specialist.
• Handle customer concerns promptly and escalate where needed.
 
POS Accuracy & Cash Handling
• Ensure all transactions follow company policies and procedures.
• Maintain an accurate and balanced cash drawer throughout your shift.
• Handle multiple payment types including cash, card, store credit, and vouchers.
 
Front of House Maintenance
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and inviting cashier counter.
• Restock necessary cashier supplies (e.g., bags, receipt rolls, etc.).
• Monitor front of house presentation and report any operational concerns.
• Assist with basic opening and closing procedures when required.
 
Team Support & Communication
• Collaborate with retail team members to ensure a smooth in store experience.
• Share customer feedback and observations to improve service quality.
• Participate in store meetings, training sessions, and company initiatives.
 
Requirements
• 1–2 years of experience in a cashier or customer facing retail role.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic accounting procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
• Basic proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
